AC/E Digital Culture Annual Report 2023
Do digital contents travel in Spanish?

This year's Yearbook analyzes in its first part, through six articles by specialists, current digital issues such as digital practices and SDGs, culture and its space, exponential technologies, the impact of new technologies on nature, culture on Tik Tok and on Twitch.

The Focus “Does digital content travel in Spanish?” makes an analysis, through an exhaustive study of the keys to the operation of digital cultural content in Spanish, the most demanded themes, its export to other markets and its transformation to other formats (music, books, audiobooks, movies, series of television, podcasts, video games, plays, etc.). This information has been reflected in various studies and partial articles from each of the cultural industries. This year's Focus carries out an exercise of aggregating results and a joint analysis to obtain the main keys on the journey of digital content in Spanish with the aim of providing relevant information and data on the consumption of culture in Spanish throughout the world to professionals in the cultural sector.

The Report is presented at a meeting co-organized by Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) and Fundación Telefónica, in which some of the collaborators in this year's edition participated.

AC/E Digital Culture Annual Report 2023

  • Type: Reports

The AC/E Digital Culture Annual Report is the result of an internal thought process undertaken in 2013 by Acción Cultural Española to explore ways of incorporating the digital dimension into its objectives and supporting the digitization of the cultural sector. (See all Annual Reports).

The 2023 edition is structured into a first part in which digital sector professionals and specialists analyse trends in the world of culture from a cross-cutting approach. The topics addressed this year include digital practices and the SDGs, culture and its space, exponential technologies, the impact of new technologies on nature, and culture on Tik Tok and Twitch.

The Focus section, “Does digital content in Spanish travel?” conducts an exhaustive study of the keys to the functioning of digital cultural content in Spanish, the themes in greatest demand, and how it is exported to other markets and transformed into other formats (music, books, audiobooks, cinema, television series, podcasts, videogames, plays, etc.). This information has been reflected in various separate studies and partial articles on each of the cultural industries. This year’s Focus is an exercise in pooling results and carrying out a joint analysis to discover the main keys to how digital content in Spanish travels, with the aim of providing culture sector professionals with relevant information and data on the consumption of culture in Spanish around the world.
