États généraux du film documentaire 2016

The Etats généraux du film documentaire is one of the landmark events of documentary cinema in France. Since 1989, our non-competitive event brings together documentary cinema passionates, professionals and a broader public to participate in the dynamics of training, screening, workshops, seminars and reflection (more than 130 fillms and 21 000 box office entries in 2015), focusing on exceptional documentary works, filmographies and the evolution of documentary cinema in Europe and worldwide.

Doc History, one of the festivals main programmes, conceived to revisit patrimonial cinema works from a foreign country and analyse its main trends, will this year be built on the thematic "Spain: from civil war to transition". A selection of 15 to 20 films produced between 1937 and the end of the 70's will be presented, in the presence of their directors. Constructed over five half-days, this programme will give the opportunity to cross the views of spanish and non-spanish directors.
