The Beethoven Center Vienna, located in the only surviving house where the composer lived – the ‘Eroica-Haus’ where he composed the 3rd Symphony, known as the ‘Eroica’ – was established for the purpose of preserving and making known the composer’s legacy.
Among other interesting material, the Beethoven Center Vienna provides scholars with rich and detailed documentation on the European anthem, the last movement of the 9th Symphony, and its connection with the poem by Friedrich Schiller.
Among other activities, the Beethoven Center Vienna organises the Beethoven Festival in Vienna and Lower Austria. With the collaboration of AC/E through the programme for the internationalisation of Spanish culture, this year’s festival features the Zorita-Picó cello and piano duo, who will perform works by several Spanish composers.
