Founded in 1969, the Belgrade Music Festival – BEMUS is the oldest and the most prominent music festival in Serbia and one of the most distinctive classical music festivals in the South-Eastern Europe, enjoying the position of a cultural event of special importance for the City of Belgrade. Although special attention has always been devoted to the promotion of local artists and their creativity, BEMUS has established its reputation mostly presenting the most attractive international programmes.
49th BEMUS Festival will be held from 11th-20th October 2017. The performers will be: RTS Symphony Orchestra (Serbia), State Academic Choir “Glinka” (Russia), Kremerata Baltica, chamber orchestra with tho soloist Lucas Debargue, pianist (France), Alexander Sinchuk, pianist (Russia), Ethno group “Biber” (Serbia), Maja Rajkovic, pianist and Denis Kresnokoutsky, viola (USA), Piano quartet of Elisabeth Leonskaja.
AC/E supports the participation of the Spanish soprano Nuria Rial in a concert with Edin Karamazov that will take place on October 19th, 2017 at Kolarac Foundation Hall. The programme of the concert will include Spanish Sephardic Songs (Lorenzo Palomo:Cinco Canciones Sefardies), as well as musical pieces by Albeniz, Granados and De Falla (Enrique Granados: Tonadillas al estilo antiguo, Isaac Albeniz : Capricho Catalan, Manuel de Falla : Siete Canciones populares Espanolas). Nuria Rial will be accompanied by renowned artist Edin Karamazov, lute and guitar (Croatia) who regularly performs with distinguished musicians ranging from Andreas Scholl and Renee Fleming to Jordi Savall and Sting. Having in mind that Nuria Rial and Edin Karamazov both studied in Basel, Switzerland, at the renowned academy for early music Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, one should not be surprised that amazing collaboration having started within the field of early music, whom both were attracted, continued to the later music periods up to Romanticism.
