DOCMA, Asociación de Cine Documental, is a group of audio-visual professionals who formed an association in order to create a meeting point where professionals of the documentary film industry can share, learn about and exchange ideas. Spurred by the conviction that documentaries are a gateway to culture and knowledge, they aim to carve out a prominent position for this genre on the national cinema scene and in the audio-visual market. DOCMA also creates initiatives for fostering the study, development, information, dissemination, promotion and protection of documentaries in Spain and abroad.
The purpose of /3XDOC/Encuentro de Creadores 2015/ is to familiarise audiences with documentaries as a genre. This edition enjoys the support lent by AC/E through the Visitors grants, which have enabled it to provide a space for reflection on the work of two filmmakers, Daniel Villamediana and Peter Mettler, who approach the cinema in diametrically opposed ways, but question the world around them in a similar manner. Encuentro features an activity programme based around their creations and includes talks after the screenings of their two main films, a masterclass taught by Peter Mettler (all at the usual venue of /3XDOC/, Cine Doré, Filmoteca Española), and an enriching meeting between the two filmmakers and the public.
