TheFestival International de Films de Femmesis responsible for organising a very particular film festival at the Maison des Artes in Créteil. Unique in its kind, it sets out to discover up-and-coming female filmmakers from all over the world. The festival is a must for women, and above all features screenings of films d’auteur which have long been discriminated against and are still little known: films made by women.
With nearly 150 films every year, the festival conveys to society a different way of looking at things. As a witness to historical debates, the festival is sensitive to the artistic and social commitment of women through the films they make. Faithful to its commitment to fight against any form of discrimination – on the grounds of race, gender, culture or social class – the festival is likewise true to its twofold legacy of feminism and cultural action. The only showcase of its kind in the world, every year the festival brings together more than 130 international women filmmakers and 20,000 spectators in Créteil.
This year the Festival International de Films de Femmes, through the collaboration of AC/E and the mobility programme of the PICE, is inviting the Spanish creators Estibaliz Urresola y Marta Nieto, who will be presenting their latest work.
