interfilm Berlin celebrates its 35th edition between 5 – 10 November 2019. This year the five big competitions (international, national, green film, documentaries and eject) and the FOCUS ON: SPAIN programme are the heart of the festival.
AC/E gives financial support for the travel and accomodation expenses of film makers and panel guests coming to interfilm, helps the festival to secure the participation of Spanisch film makers in order to be part of the activities during the festival and present their short films to our international audience within the FOCUS ON: SPAIN 2019 programme. The selected films will be screened two or three times during the festival. The programme also includes a selection of the best and most successful spanish short films (up to 20 minutes) of fiction and animation of the last 10 years. Historical films will also be part of a retospective programme in order to present to the international and national audience a panorama of the Spanish film making.
Discussions and interviews, a panel talk on the short film industry in Spain and a reception with international guests are therefore important parts of the FOCUS ON programme and aim towards the distribution of spanish film culture.
Founded in the early 1980ies as an independent Super-8 Film Festival, interfilm is today one of the oldest short film festivals in Germany and also one of the biggest, welcoming each year more than 21.000 visitors. Since 2018 interfilm is also an Oscar® qualifying festival.
