2nd Festival of Spanish Theatre in London 2014

During the week of 20 to 25 May 2014, London’s Riverside Studios are hosting the Spanish Theatre Festival featuring 8 performances of the work En un lugar del Quijote and three workshops run by theatre company director Yayo Cáceres. AC/E is collaborating through the PICE mobility grants by supporting his company’s participation.

Ron Lalá is a theatre and comedy company that performs live music. It combines original music and texts with a stage language of its own that relies on critical and biting humour. Lalá’s unmistakeable trademark style is the product of group creation.

En un lugar del Quijote (Somewhere in Don Quixote),coproduced by Ron Lalá and the Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico, introduces audiences to one of the myths of universal literature, Don Quixote of La Mancha. With a spirit of dialectic that combines tradition and modernity, Ron Lalá recreates the adventures of the knight errant and his squire and, at the same time, the process of novel writing by a disillusioned, sarcastic Cervantes who lucidly reflects the terrible social, economic and political situation in Golden Age Spain.
