The FIPR (Rosario international poetry festival) is held every year in Rosario and the C. C. Parque de España. Dating back to 1993, it is the most important event in its field in Argentina and its purpose is to disseminate poetry in Spanish and other languages and to further discussion on the historical, social and cultural aspects of the respective literatures.
This year’s festival includes a tribute to Aldo Oliva, one of the most prominent poets on the Argentinean scene of the second half of the twentieth century; it will present the second (revised and enlarged) edition of his Poesía Completa (complete works). There will also be sections on poetry written by women, which emerged on the continent in the 1980s, and a survey of the newest poets in Latin America and Spain.
AC/E is supporting the participation of María Salgado as a guest poet. She will be involved in the poetry reading roundtables held at the Centro Cultural Roberto Fontanarrosa, the Plataforma Lavardén and the Oui Bar, as well as giving a talk to secondary-school pupils of the Instituto Superior Politécnico and taking part in an exhibition and a talk on new Spanish poetry at the school of literature of the Faculty of Humanities and Arts. She will also take part in a number of activities at the Centro Cultural de España in Buenos Aires.
