San Sebastián Musical Fortnight is the oldest classical music festival in Spain, and one of Europe’s most consolidated events. It arose in 1939 as an initiative by local catering companies and other businesses in the city. Right from the start, the Musical Fortnight has been highly rated for the quality of its programmes and prestige of its performers.
This 79th edition offers a total of 93 activities throughout its 31 days of activity and its 11 cycles. The proposals included in this edition follow a common thread, "Myth and tradition", with a focus on music and its relationship with mythology, and art.
AC/E is collaborating with San Sebastián Musical Fortnight supporting the participation of two eminent programmers from Turkey: Yesim Gürer Oymak, from the Istambul Foundation for Culture and Arts and Efruz Cakirkaya, from the Istambul Musik Festival. The aim of this visits is to allow the programmer to find out more about the work by creators in our country.
