18SAC has invited Spanish curator Alejandro Alonso Díaz to attend a one-month residency in Los Angeles in August 2018. 18SAC is the largest and longest-running artist residency programme in Southern California, having hosted over 500 artists from more than 60 countries. The curator in residence will be invited to meet with artists and curators at 18SAC and throughout the Los Angeles area, with events and introductions facilitated by 18SAC staff.
The residency will take place between August 1-30, 2018. As part of the activities to be developed through his time in Los Angeles, Alejandro Alonso Díaz will present both his individual curatorial practice and the work he develops for fluent, a project space for artistic research. While in residence, he will conduct studio visits and portfolio reviews with artists and fellow curators in residence, as well as a program of visits to other LA-based museums, independent projects and galleries, and studio visits in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
