AC/E supports the participation in this 2022 edition of the Biennial of Spanish artists, architects and researchers Cooking Sections (Daniel Fernandez and Aaron Swabe) and Fernando García Dory, invited to participate by the curatorial team formed by Ute Meta Bauer, Amar Kanwar and David Teh.
The 2022 edition, which is held in Istanbul between September 17 and November 20, is in the words of the curatorial team: "Rather than a great tree, laden with sweet, ripe fruit, this biennale seeks to learn from the birds' flight, from the once teeming seas, from the earth's slow chemistry of renewal and nourishment. There may be no great gathering, no orchestrated coming together at one time and place; instead it might be a great dispersal, an invisible fermentation. Its threads will be drawn together, but they will multiply and diverge, at different paces, crossing here and there but with no noisy culmination, no final knot. It may begin before it is to begin and continue well after it is over."
Organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, the Biennale, which has been held since 1987, is a relevant artistic event that deepens intercultural dialogue and opens up new avenues of creation for contemporary art. The most important showcase for the performing and visual arts in Turkey, its efforts have been instrumental in the growth of new artistic and cultural outlets in this country and have also provided a platform for international collaboration.
