Since its creation in 1983, the purpose of the Biennale du Cinéma Espagnol D’Annecy (Annecy Spanish film festival) has been to reflect Spanish film production. Initially established to make up for the scant presence of Spanish cinema in France, for years the festival has been concentrating on the work of both renowned directors and young generations of filmmakers, thereby contributing to the greater recognition of Spanish cinema and becoming an international reference over time.
The festival, which shows some fifty recent films, aims to reveal the most interesting aspects of today’s Spanish cinema to the French public and film professionals.
AC/E is collaborating in this year’s festival by supporting the participation of Fran Araujo, Cesc Gay, Xavi Puebla and David Valero, who have been invited by the organisers to present the screenings of their latest films.
